It goes without saying that you can’t visit Walt Disney World without riding on the monorail at least once, right? That’s why a lot of Disney fans can’t help but wonder if Disney might be gearing up to reopen the EPCOT monorail in the coming weeks or even days as some eagle-eyed fans noticed that there were some cast members in training recently. Here’s what you need to know.
Walt Disney World Update: Is Disney Reopening The EPCOT Monorail?
The EPCOT monorail has been closed for the past year because of the Covid-19 pandemic but it looks like it might be opening up back again, which would make transportation easier for guests traveling from one park to the next. Some cast members have been spotted training at the station in EPCOT this week. What’s more, some of the signage that was there previously have been removed from the station, prompting some people to believe that the monorail might be up and running again in no time.
This is great news for Disney fans, as more and more pre-Covid-19 attractions and amenities are opening up again throughout the parks now that more and more people are getting vaccinated. In fact, fans are reporting that they were incredibly excited to finally see the Tower of Terror pre-show at Hollywood Studios this past week. In addition to the Tower of Terror, pre-shows at Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Tower, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, Muppet Vision 3D, Star Tour are all back, too.
This is all-around great news for Walt Disney fans because it means that things are finally returning back to normal after a very long and stressful pandemic. With that said though, Disney has made sure to keep the experience at the theme park as magical as possible for their visitors despite all of the changes that have been made.
