I don't think family-friendly is the first thing that comes to mind when people think of Venice... maybe it's the transportation, the walking up and down bridges? I have to disagree though! Venice was the city the girls were most excited to visit in all our travels around the world. They were literally dreaming of making a Venetian mask for 2 months. 😂
So, it was one of the first things we did when we arrived. We found this cute little place called San Marco 596, where you can learn to make your own mask with an expert Venetian mask craftsman.

I love this photo of Dan and the girls... it's not the most perfect shot but the most perfect memory. We had just arrived in Venice, and we were on that 'just arrived on holiday' high. There's just something different in their smiles! 🥰
I took this picture on the Rialto bridge, which is never empty and has hundreds of tourists trying to get the perfect shot of the grande canal. You can't see that in this shot, but I can hear the people, the hustle around us, and me trying to cut them out of this shot. 😂

Hello 👋 from Venice, Italy!!!
We visited as a young couple in 2009 and now in 2022 with three kids!!! Things have definitely changed, but our love for this beautiful city remains. Venice sometimes gets mixed feelings from some people, but I think it's because it can be an overwhelming place if you don't do your research beforehand. Venice has so much history in a small area so go in knowing what you want to do in the time you're there. Also, don't be scared to travel off the beaten path to find local eats. Venice can be extremely expensive to eat, but we have also had some amazing economical meals. Be sure to try Osteria Al Portego!!

The adventure awaits… T-minus 22 days!! ✈️
I know we have been really quiet here recently and it hasn’t been intentional. Life has been so busy this year with all the girls in elementary school. So, I decided to pick an area to concentrate on the most and that was our YouTube channel. It’s doing better than ever so I’m thrilled about that!! ❤️ I do want to get back to posting here though and I think our summer in Italy 🇮🇹 will be perfect for capturing some amazing shots!! 📸
Our first stop is Venice! It’s going to be challenging with all our luggage for two months and with three kids but we don’t get phased easily. 🤪 We really wanted the kids to experience the city because it’s a place that holds a lot of special memories for me and Dan.

While were enjoying our time aboard the Disney Cruise in March, Daniel was in Dubai filming for The Go To Family.
One of his favorite days of his trip was going on a desert safari adventure just outside Dubai. He got to ride a vintage Land Rover in the sand dunes, watch a falcon flight and taste delicious Emirati Food in a traditional Bedouin camp.

The countdown is on again! We had such a blast cruising with Disney in March that we crazily decided to book another cruise for April! We will be sailing aboard the Fantasy and visiting St Maarten, San Juan and Castaway Cay. This time Daniel will be joining us. I'm very excited to have our professional filmer coming along. I try my best, but he is the expert. 😆

Happy 6th Birthday, Ella & Rose!
I look at you two every day and wonder where the time has gone and how did you get so big? It doesn't seem like six years, but it has been and that's the weirdest feeling! To me, they're still my little babies, despite being told, "We're not babies any more mom!". 🤷‍♀️ I really don't care what they say because they will always be my 'babies', even when they have kids of their own (says every mama 😆).

I did it! I survived flying with three kids alone! Honestly, it wasn’t that bad, but that may be because the girls are already so used to traveling.
We met up with my mom who has been in Florida for the winter and she joined us on the Disney cruise.

The countdown is on! In four days, we will be aboard the Disney Fantasy.
The last time we were on the cruise was March 2020, just before life got crazy! It will be interesting to see all the changes that have been made. It's a little nerve-racking that we have to take a PCR test at the power! There's always that question of what if... 🤦‍♀️ We’ve done everything in our power to stay healthy, so hopefully we get no surprises. 🤞I will be filming the process and posting it to our YouTube Channel because I know a lot of people have questions about it.
Besides that, we’re all pumped and to be honest I would be happy just going around in circles to get on the ship. 🤪 The magic will be there no matter what for us.

The Go To Family will be on the road again in two weeks!
We're back to our pre-pandemic routine, where Dan travels somewhere in March to film while the girls and I head somewhere else to spend time with my mom. This year Dan has set his sights on Dubai! There's a lot of exciting stuff happening there right now so he will be filming a whole lot. He's going to hit up the Expo, eat lots of food and do some hotel reviews.
You guys can probably guess where I'm heading with the girls. 🤔 A place that has kinda become our second home. More on that on a separate post though. 😆

It feels like it has been forever since I posted on our Instagram. Honestly, it was never my intention to go so long. Our story has not changed and our goal to live a travel life is as strong as ever.
So, let’s have a minute of honesty here. I have written about suffering from anxiety online but not so much about suffering from seasonal depression. Winters are harsh in Montreal. It gets extremely cold and it feels like you can go weeks without seeing the sun. SAD tends to get worse as the temperature gets worse. October and January to March are the hardest. I can be in the best spot and it still creeps up. Every day, I have to be conscious of this and work to hold it down.
How I try to work through it is by focusing my energy on positive things. It’s not easy, especially with the pandemic restrictions here and the current division. Anyhow, that’s what I have been doing since late December. I committed to working out 4 to 5 days a week ( I have lost 6 pounds. 🎉) Continually, working on our YouTube channel (which is growing more than ever 🎉), taking time for myself (I got a hydra facial and LOVED it 😊). Spending more quality time with the kids ( the girls are mastering some school things after a lot of work and I’m so proud of them ❤️).
So, no I have not been ignoring Instagram but working on ‘life’. 🙏 Hopefully, this is the first day of regularly posting again. We’re also filming this month and I will write a little more about that in the coming days.
Thank you to everyone that has followed our journey over the last 4 years. 💕
