Does this mean that you get to enjoy a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee transatlantic style? The answer is a definite maybe as JetBlue has announced that they will start their new routes to London this summer with fares starting at under $600. This is great news for travelers who have been itching to go to Europe ever since the pandemic began back in March of 2020. Here’s what you need to know.
JetBlue Is Ready To Take You To London This Summer
Everyone’s favorite airline in the sky, JetBlue, announced that it will start daily flights between JFK and Heathrow airports on Aug. 11, and add daily trips from JFK to London’s second-biggest airport, Gatwick, on Sept. 29. It plans to add Boston-London flights next year. In addition, there will be flights from Boston to London beginning in 2022.
“JFK-LHR, the single largest international air travel market from the US, has long suffered from outrageously high fares for far too long, especially in premium cabins. We’re ready to change that with a price point and experience that will impress even the most discerning transatlantic flyers,” said JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes in a new statement.
“We’ve always said that JetBlue would serve multiple London airports, and we’re pleased to have secured a path at Heathrow and for long-term growth at Gatwick, which offers speed, low costs, and convenient accessibility into Central London,” Hayes continued.
This comes as the EU just announced that it will open up its borders to vaccinated Americans this summer. It’s been also noted that JetBlue flights will operate via Heathrow’s new Terminal 2 and Gatwick’s North Terminal and will fly their newest jet, the Airbus A321 Long Range (LR), featuring 117 core seats and 24 Mint suites.
