If you are looking to visit Puerto Vallarta this summer, you are in good luck. That’s because there’s a new report that says the region will now allow hotels and resorts to operate at 80 percent capacity. This is an increase from the 66 percent that was previously announced on April 26th.

What’s more, Governor Ramirez also that restaurants, businesses, and cultural spaces are all permitted to increase visitor capacity to 75 percent for guest services. In addition, both bars and clubs can also operate at 40 percent.
Meanwhile, a separate report says that Puerto Vallarta is expecting more than 1500 flight arrivals by the end of this month, which signifies progress in the local economic recovery. Even though Mexico has been open to tourists all throughout the entire pandemic, many Americans have opted to stay home. But now that more and more people are getting vaccinated, the tourism industry is getting a much-needed boost. In fact, Spirit Airlines will offer direct flights from Los Angeles, Dallas, and Houston three times a week while American Airlines confirmed a new direct flight from Austin. Air Canada has also announced the reopening of the Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta route beginning August 1.
With that said, some parts of Mexico have seen an increase in Covid-19 in the past week. New case numbers are on the rise in Baja California Sur, Campeche, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, Tabasco, Tamualipas, Veracruz and Yucatán. It’s been noted that more than 27.2 million Mexicans, or 30 percent of the adult population, have received at least one vaccine dose, while 15.8 million people are fully vaccinated. The United States, meanwhile, has had one of the most effective vaccine rollouts in the world.
