Disney’s Aulani Resort may be lifting the outdoor mask mandate on their tropical property as Hawaiian governor, David Ige has lifted the requirement throughout the state.
Visitors to Hawaii will still be required to wear a face mask indoors in public spaces and when congregating in groups outdoors.
“The virus is still circulating in our community, and unvaccinated people are particularly at risk” Governor Ige warned. “Until more people are vaccinated, we must continue to take precautions indoors and outdoors in large groups for the safety of our loved ones, neighbors and communities.”
The big question is, will Aulani match Hawaii’s new ruling?Disney’s Aulani Resort website has not yet been updated with any new policy, their face covering rules still stating that all guests aged 2 and up need to wear a mask in public at all times unless they are eating or drinking. Here’s hoping this is simply a delay and we soon get to see those big smiles in that coveted photo of your family saying aloha to Mickey and his pals!
Hawaii has been a hotspot for U.S. visitors since traveling to other countries became anywhere from difficult to impossible. As the Pacific state works on its vaccine passport rules and regulations, they currently have two options in place for those entering the country.
Guests and residents can either show proof of a negative COVID-19 test from a state-approved, trusted testing partner that was taken no longer than 72 hours prior to the final leg of departure or, in lieu of the negative test, can self-quarantine for 10 days.
Once inside Hawaii, fully vaccinated travelers may island hop by showing a proof of vaccine card. The final vaccine jab must have been administered at least 14 days prior to travelling.
