Romania Is Now Open To Foreign Travelers – But With Different Entry Requirements

American travelers now have another European country they can add to their possible list of places to visit this summer. That’s because Romania has just announced that they have opened their borders again to foreign travelers, but with a few stipulations, though. Here’s what you need to know.

Romania Is Now Open To Foreign Travelers – But With Different Entry Requirements

Right now, countries that are on Romania’s green, yellow and red lists are permitted to enter Romania, but with different entry requirements. The United States is currently on the ‘green list’, which means travelers from the U.S. can enter Romania without any tests or quarantine obligations. Meanwhile, all travelers from a red country will be expected to quarantine for 14 days while travelers from a yellow country will need to provide proof of a negative PCR test, performed no longer than 72 hours before arrival. Those who can provide proof of a Covid-19 need not to quarantine.

Meanwhile, there’s a separate report that says Dracula’s Castle in Romania is offering free vaccinations to visitors. And no, we are not kidding about this, either. While admission to the castle is not required to receive a vaccine, there’s no guarantee that Dracula won’t be there to suck your blood upon arrival.

The castle, located in the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania, hopes to lure more travelers with shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which they are calling “another kind of sting.” Ha! But those who do get the shot will also get to go home with a “diploma” saying that they were vaccinated at Bran Castle. If that weren’t enough, on-site medics administering the shots have fang stickers on their scrubs.
