Vaccinated Visitors Can Now Visit Saint Lucia With Ease

The Caribbean has always been a popular spot for US tourists, now with more island nations, like St. Lucia easing restrictions for vaccinated visitors, their tourism sector looks to start booming again.

This week, Saint Lucia became the latest in the group of Caribbean nations to update and ease their entry requirements. As of today, the entire island is completely accessible to all vaccinated visitors.

Welcome to St LuciaPreviously, any guests visiting the tropical island were bound by the borders of the resort they chose to visit, only allowed to leave the property if participating in hotel-booked, water-based excursions.

Under the updated protocols, fully vaccinated travelers, ie. those who’ve had the second shot of the vaccine (or one shot of the single dose type) a minimum of 14 days before travelling,  may now book rental cars, dine at local restaurants, visit beaches and other tourism destinations and  stay in almost any hotel or Air BNB of their choosing

St Lucia

“Vaccinated travelers are now invited to explore the entire destination at their leisure” Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet announced. “Vaccinated visitors can now truly vacation like a local.”

The Prime Minister went on to say he believes any guest can experience a wonderful island getaway in his gorgeous country and also warned that Saint Lucia’s health and safety protocols still need to be abided by, no matter what status the guest has when it comes to vaccinations. This includes mask-wearing in public places.

St Lucia WaterfallsPrior to travelling to Saint Lucia, tourists will be required to complete a pre-arrival travel authorization form. Travelers will upload proof of vaccination but also be required to travel with their vaccination documentation.

Upon arrival to the country, vaccinated visitors will be processed via a dedicated health screening line. An identification wristband will be provided to the tourist and must be worn for the duration of their stay.

St Lucia resortNon-vaccinated travelers may continue to come into the country but will need to stay within the certified property they have chosen to stay for a minimum of 14 days. It is a watered down version of quarantine, where they may still mingle with other guests and participate in resort activities.

All travelers to Saint Lucia, vaccinated or not, need to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken no more than five days before arrival.
