Orange County Reaches Requirement to Drop all Masks in the County. Will Walt Disney World No Longer Require Guests to Wear Mask?

Orange County in Florida has reached another milestone when it comes to the flight against Covid-19. A press release from Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings’s office states that the county has maintained a 14-day COVID positivity rate of 4.7%. In the phased plan put forth earlier in the year, a positivity rate of 5% or lower allows all mask mandates to be eliminated in the county.

It is expected that Mayor Demings will announce the end of his county’s mask mandate early next week. This is potentially big news for Walt Disney World. Its theme parks and resorts could potentially not require guests to wear a mask at all (indoors or outside).

Universal Studios Orlando Resort has already decided to stop requiring vaccinated guests to wear masks indoors. Walt Disney World has not announced any changes to its policy as of yet. It does seem like some big news is about to drop when it comes to the health protocols within the parks. Guests have been seeing social distancing signs and ground marking removed from the Disney parks.
