Walt Disney World Resorts to Welcome Back Gingerbread Houses This Holiday Season

While most of us are happy relaxing in the summer sun, some are already looking forward to the holiday season and are ecstatic to hear that Walt Disney World will be welcoming back the ever-popular gingerbread houses to their Resort Hotels in 2021

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the famous resort hotel gingerbread houses were not on display over the 2020 holiday season. Guests are very excited to see them come back for the 2021 season, however, Disney has announced that only “select” gingerbread houses will be returning

We imagine the original house to be on display, 22 years ago at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be back for guests to marvel at. A classic recipe from Austria is used to bake all the gingerbread parts including ornaments, decorations and the14 foot tall house which stands in the hotel’s lobby.

It’s not all traditional houses on display in the hotel lobbies.

A few years back Disney’s Beach Club Resort boasted a Donald and Daisy Duck-themed carousel while Disney’s BoardWalk Resort displayed a gingerbread replica of the resort’s BoardWalk’s iconic locales such as BoardWalk Bakery, Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno.

National Gingerbread Day happens to fall only 9 days later on November 21st. This is a perfect time to celebrate the holidays and delicious gingerbread by visiting the house displays and sampling, tasty gingerbread desserts, confectionaries, and other sweet treats all around the Disney resorts!

A new special-ticketed event, “Disney Very Merriest After Hours,”  is set to debut early November at the Magic Kingdom with added hours available on select nights through December 21. All the parks will be putting their best ‘tis the season’ foot forward so make sure you check back as we let you know how to enjoy snow in Arendelle or experience a very Dickensian Christmas Carol this year!
