The Brand new Mardi Gras, Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship will be making her long-awaited debut this month- albeit at the very tail end. On Saturday, July 31 the Mardi Gras is set to begin sailing seven-day cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. Onboard the new approx. 6000 pax capacity Mardi Gras, guests will discover the widest variety of food and beverage outlets in the entire 24 strong Carnival fleet.
One of the most original new restaurants guests will enjoy when sailing onboard the Mardi Gras is Chibang!, a two-in-one dining concept featuring both Chinese and Mexican dishes.
For a very limited time, many restaurants on the Mardi Gras which would ordinarily be “extra fee” dining options will all be included in the price of the cruise. This included Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse Cucina del Capitano along with the brand new Chibang
Carnival’s vice president of culinary and dining, Cyrus Marfatia is especially proud of the dining options aboard the newest addition to CCL’s fleet saying, “Mardi Gras is truly a game-changing ship and that, of course, includes her amazing dining options which offer our guests a broad spectrum of cuisines from around the world.”
Chibang! is the Mandarin word for wing. Though it offers both Chinese and Mexican cuisine, it is not a “fusion” restaurant but rather offers two distinctly different menus of authentic favorites from China and Mexico.
Chili Shrimp, Slow-Braised Pork Belly, and Kung Pao Chicken will be sure to satiate those with a hankering for delights of the Far East while Carnitas Tacos, Pollo en Mole and Pescado Frito will be chowed down by those looking to experience the spice palate from South of the Border…yet you can still eat together!
If guests aren’t tempted enough by the menus or the floor-to-ceiling windows running the length of the restaurant and offering stunning ocean views, perhaps they will stop by for the Blood Orange Margaritas, Smokey Mezcal Negronis, and Green Tea Martinis!
