The popular, nighttime Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle show is coming back to Universal Orlando, heralding the long awaited return of the projection shows in The Wizarding World.
Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle is one of three Wizarding World projection shows paused due to the pandemic. Now, just in time for Halloween, Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure goers will be able to rub shoulders with Death Eaters and dodge Dementors as they take in the creepy spectacle, projected along the facade of Hogwarts Castle and in the skies above Hogsmeade.
As Universal says on their website, “As darkness falls on Hogwarts castle, Dementors, Death Eaters and other unspeakable creatures cloak the stone walls in sinister images and fiendish magic. Chaos erupts as the image of Lord Voldemort joins the fray, summoning his cruel legions to swarm the castle.
Stare in awe at the castle’s takeover during this ominous spectacle of light and music.
No wonder Potterheads can hardly wait for September 18 when the show, which originally debuted in a simpler form in April 2019, returns.
Universal further teases about “the all-consuming Dark Arts” that will be unleashed in Hogsmeade, “Ominous green light and fog will permeate the village, signaling the arrival of the Death Eaters. They’ll eerily roam throughout Hogsmeade, lurking amongst guests – practicing the Dark Arts with complete disregard of wizarding laws.
The projections will run multiple times nightly, starting at dusk and continuing until the park closes…that is if He Who should Not Be Named allows it to be so!
The return of the Dark Arts show is also getting Christmas fans hopeful for the return of The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle show. Universal has announced that Holidays at Universal Orlando will return on November 13, but no Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure announcements have been made as yet.
