Even though there are still many parts of the world that are on lockdown with the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic certainly not over yet, the travel, tourism and entertainment industry is still doing what it can to keep its doors open. Here’s What You Need To Know About Universal Studios Beijing’s Soft Opening
According to reports, Universal Studios Beijing’s soft opening will begin September 1st. The park is the fifth Universal Studios-branded theme park in the world, the seventh Universal-built park overall, and the third in Asia, after Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Singapore. It is also the first Universal theme park to not have a Sesame Street themed area though.
Meanwhile, Beijing is also planning to develop a special tourist route that encompasses the Universal Studios theme park in Tongzhou district as well as its nearby destinations such as the Grand Canal, the Songzhuang artist village, the Taihu town, and the Zhangjiawan ancient town.
Seven themed areas including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Transformers Metrobase, Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness, Hollywood, WaterWorld, Minion Land, Jurassic World Isla Nublar, and the CityWalk, as well as several other scenic spots. The resort is expecting over 10 million visitors per year, which will most likely happen once the pandemic subsides. As of press time, China has reported 94,765 cases and 4,636 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
