Since 2014, Universal Orlando Resort has grown exponentially from three onsite hotels to eight. All onsite properties are operated in partnership with Loews Hotels, and, like the selection of properties at neighbor, Disney World, the differing properties offer guests a style to suit any vacation need and budget.
However, when the global pandemic shut the world down last year, the Universal theme park and its properties weren’t exempt. When the park closed on March 15, and all hotels March 20, it was expected they would be welcoming guests back before April began. The closure, however, stretched on until June 5 for the park and June 2 for many of the Universal Orlando hotels.
When the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel threw open it’s doors in early December (ahead of update projections) followed by the grand opening of Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites, only three hotels remained dormant, Universal’s Aventura Hotel, Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.
When does Loews Sapphire Falls Resort open?
Fans of Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, however, were finally relieved to hear their favourite resort hotel will be joining its brother properties and swinging its doors open wide on May 18, 2021!
The Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, closed since late August, 2020 promises to transport guests to a “paradise in the heart of the tropics”. With calming steel drums echoing across the lush grounds, complete with blue waterfalls, guests are encouraged to ease in to ‘island time’ and let go. Something we could benefit from amidst our upside down world!
Universal Orlando fans are gleeful at the new announcement, the opening of another of it’s properties displaying that their favorite park is bouncing back. Even more so, Universal fans were happy to learn that construction restarted in March of 2021 on the delayed Epic Universe theme park that was expected to join the resort in 2024.
