Pandemic health and safety guidelines are changing almost daily, especially as vaccines roll out across the U.S. and the world. Now Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort is doing its part to encourage those visiting the Happiest Place on Earth to vaccinate, thus ensuring that we can all get back to a new normal.
The Experience Updates page of the Disney World website, where future guests turn for pertinent information on the parks, their current guidelines, changes and anything else needed to know for upcoming Disney visits and stays received a recent update with the vaccine encouragement.
The new message under the “Welcoming You Back to Walt Disney World Resort” heading reads:
“As you prepare to visit, please know that we’ve made updates based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies.
It may be different from the last time you visited. But together, we can find new ways to create magical moments—and memories to treasure.
We are aware of the state of Florida’s plans to modify COVID-19 guidelines. We will evaluate this latest guidance and maintain our current health and safety measures at this time, including face covering requirements. We will continue to make thoughtful adjustments to our policy. As COVID-19 vaccines become available, we encourage people to get vaccinated.”
Law Against Making COVID-19 Vaccines Mandatory
Currently the Governor of the state of Florida, Ron De Santis is pushing a new law against making the vaccine mandatory for any of its citizens, which he hopes to spread to the cruising sector and all cruise ships leaving from Florida ports. This means Walt Disney World Resort, as well as any other Florida based theme park would not be able to disallow unvaccinated guests to visit their parks. All they can do for now is encourage future guests to ‘do the right thing’.
Some Covid-19 guidelines have been relaxed at Walt Disney World in the past week, with the announcement that temperature checks will no longer be necessary. Currently masks are still required but as more and more people get vaccinated, the hope is that masks will no longer be required and we will finally be able to see those big, infectious Disney smiles on each other’s faces instead.
