Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Previews New Moana-Inspired Guest Rooms

We’ve got great news for Moana fans out there. Those looking to book hotel rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this summer will be pleased to know that the hotel’s new Moana rooms are coming along pretty nicely. The Disney resort has done some major renovations to allow guests to feel as though they are truly immersed inside the world of Moana. Here’s what you need to know.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Previews New Moana-Inspired Guest Rooms

Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World Resort, took to social media to share all the excitement over the Moana rooms with a behind-the-scenes look. He wrote,

Spent yesterday morning checking out the new renovations at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. I’m always impressed by the attention to detail that goes into designing our parks and resorts, and the new rooms inspired by Moana deliver plenty of fun elements for our Guests to discover and enjoy from the animated film.”

Vahle added, “Thank you to the team who welcomed me and our Cast Members for an exclusive “open mouse” of the refurbished rooms. We can’t wait to start welcoming Guests back to the resort this summer. #DisneyCastLife”

The guest room showcases Hawaiian wallpaper art along with Hawaiian traditional prints can be seen within the lamps, tables, and closet spaces, and hues of blues and sand bring this Moana-themed room to life. In other words, it truly is Moana-perfect. You’d think that you were sitting somewhere in the middle of the pacific ocean if it weren’t for the Florida humidity outside your hotel room.

It was reported last summer that the renovations for a Moana-like décor inside the hotel were well underway. In the resort’s hallways, colorful leaf pattern with tattoo designs just like Maui’s from the movie. What’s more, sconce lighting also features a bronze sleeve of tattoo designs.

A Walt Disney World spokesperson confirmed changes to the rooms will include “a Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns and textures from Disney’s Moana, an animated film that takes place on the Polynesian island of Motunui.”

We will definitely update you with all of the latest Disney travel news and of course, Covid-19 related news as they come in.
