American Airlines Will Rebook Your Missed Flights For Free

Sure, flying is certainly not the same it was before the pandemic started and while there might be some setbacks to flying the not-so-friendly skies, there are some perks that have been added by the airline industry. In fact, there’s a new report that says American Airlines’ new policy will allow those who have missed their flights to rebook them for free. In other words, say good-bye to those add-on fees! Here’s what you need to know.

New Rebooking Policy

American Airlines has a new rebooking policy if you just happen to be slightly late for your flight (it’s happened to the best of us, right?) American Airlines must be reading our thoughts correctly, as they will not let customers be confirmed immediately on the next flight with space available at no cost, but only if they make it to the airport within that short window of time. The new policy went into effect April 20th.

“(This) policy update will help reduce mishandled baggage and lengthy priority lists, while providing an elevated customer experience,” American Airlines said in a statement to the press.

Typically, if your flight is canceled or a delay causes you to miss your connection, American Airlines will rebook you on the next flight with available seats. They might also reroute your bags automatically when you check in for your new flights. Most U.S. domestic flights‘ check-in cutoff is 45 minutes prior to departure.

How to Make Changes Yourself

If you are looking to do this yourself, you can make the change on aa.com, at the airport (at the self-service kiosk or ticket counter) or call Reservations. If you still want to try for a different flight, same-day standby lets you standby for an earlier American or American Eagle flight (with the same routing on your day of departure).

If you have any additional questions, check out American Airlines website at aa.com or give them a call. In the meantime, we will definitely update you with all of the latest details and information about traveling during this Covid-19 summer.

[…] Instead of the model of ole Sam, hawking his shrunken heads, a brand new giftshop will be the final scene…sound like a familiar phenomenon? Well, this gift shop is a little different. Firstly, guests will not actually be able to enter the store or spend any money there. It is simply one scene of many, interconnected scenes said to build on the original Jungle Cruise story. […]
