Cruise aficionados won’t have to wait any longer to take their long-awaited trips back to high seas as cruise lines are slowly but surely reinstating their voyages again. We’ve got all of the details you need to know right here.

American Cruise Lines Is Ready To Take Travelers To Alaska Again

A press release says that American Cruises will operate exclusively in U.S. waters on board their American Constellation, one of the newest ships in Alaska. Guests can expect an eight-day Southeast Alaska cruise that is round-trip from Juneau, and brand new 11-day Alaskan Explorer cruises which venture further into the Inside Passage, Clarence Straight, Tracy Arm, and Glacier Bay.

Of course, the cruise like is also making sure that every guest on board remains safe and healthy and Covid-19 free at all times.

“We have a strong operating history in Alaska and have been glad to work with our many local partners to make this season a reality,” said Charles B. Robertson, President & CEO of American Cruise Lines. “Our COVID-19 operating protocols are tailored to each state and designed to mitigate risk while still enabling a meaningful contribution to each local economy.”

What’s more, the state of Alaska also announced that it will be fully reopened for tourists this summer. As of press time, 40 percent of adults in Alaska over the age of 16 are vaccinated, making this a perfect opportunity for out-of-state tourists to visit.

Alaska Wants Tourists

The shutdown has impacted both big and small businesses and that’s why the state is doing what it can to court independent travelers to visit Alaska by road, railroad, plane, and ferries. Further reports also state that Alaska is offering free Covid-19 vaccines to anyone who visits their state this summer. Travelers will be able to get their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine starting June 1st, according to Alaska’s Gov. Mike Dunleavy. Vaccines have so far been approved for people 16 years old and older.
