Here’s What You Need To Know Before Traveling To The Netherlands This Summer

It’s been a long time coming, but Europe is finally open to American travelers. Non-essential was prohibited for the last 15 months because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but now that more and more people are getting vaccinated against the virus, it’s time to pack your bags and explore again. One of the countries that you can explore freely and with very little restriction happens to be The Netherlands. Here’s what you need to know before you book your trip for your next big summer destination.

Here’s What You Need To Know Before Traveling To The Netherlands This Summer

The Netherlands has reopened to American travelers with no restrictions. In fact, you don’t even to show them your proof of vaccination, previous recovery from the virus or even a negative Covid-19 test. Because the United States has done such a good job with their vaccine rollout so far, along with the country’s falling infection rates, it has been deemed a safe country or one with low-risk for Covid-19 transmission.

The United States has been added to the list of non-EU “safe countries,” which also includes Albania, Hong Kong, Macau, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Serbia and Taiwan. Countries that were already on the safe list prior to the addition of the US include Australia, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.

“If you live in a safe country, you may travel to the Netherlands. The EU travel ban does not apply to you. It does not matter what your nationality or the purpose of your trip is. Countries that are not on the list of safe countries are considered high-risk areas,” the Dutch government recently said in a statement.

With that said though, travelers who are visiting the Netherlands by plane will still need to fill in a health declaration form before arrival.
