Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas will be the World’s Largest Cruise Ship When it Debuts in 2022

Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas will be the World’s Largest Cruise Ship When it Debuts in 2022Royal Caribbean is about to break its own record of the world’s largest cruise ship when the Wonder of the Seas takes her maiden voyage in March next year.

Currently, the 6680 passenger, Oasis-class Symphony of the Seas holds the record for the world’s largest ship, edging out the Oasis of the Seas in length by one foot and almost 2000 gross tonnes as well as the same length Harmony of the Seas (both of which can hold more guests) by just over 1000 gross tonnes

Known as the ships with the biggest variety of activities to do onboard with climbing walls, wave riders, bumper cars, and more, Royal Caribbean is only upping the ante on The Wonder of the Seas, making it a full-on theme park at sea and adding to the hefty weight of the ship!

New to The Wonder of the Seas is the Perfect Storm waterslide trio, the Wonder Dunes, where guests can tee up under the sun or stars for an immersive, story-based mini golf journey like nothing played before on land and an all-new Playscape- an underwater-themed world with endless opportunities for kids to explore.

The Far East Discovery Cruises leaving from Shanghai or Hong Kong have now been scrapped and the Wonder of the Seas will take her inaugural cruise from Fort Lauderdale on March 4, heading out to Cozumel, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, and the private island of CocoCay on its 7-night Caribbean sailings.

From May, the ship will reposition to Europe and depart Barcelona or Rome on 7-night Western Mediterranean cruises

It was the demand for cruises from the US and Europe that led Royal Caribbean to change its original plans for their newest and largest ship.
