Port of Baltimore Finally Sees the Return of Carnival Cruise Ships

Port of Baltimore’s cruise ship dock has sat empty for many, many months, its seaport terminal silent, deserted. However, starting this week, Carnival Cruise Line has brought The Pride back to Maryland. Pride, the cruise ship, that is…and maybe a little pride to the workers in the popular port.

Carnival Pride leaving BaltimorePrior to the Carnival Pride departing on Sunday on a seven-day cruise to The Bahamas, Carnival President, Christine Duffy, Carnival Pride Captain, Maurizio Ruggiero and Port of Baltimore Executive Director, William P. Doyle held a “Back to Fun” celebration in the long-dormant terminal.
A ceremonial ribbon was cut to cheers and applause before The Pride’s officers, staff and crew officially welcomed the first guests since the pandemic shut down on board.

The Carnival Pride’s re-inaugural cruise to Nassau, Freeport, and the private island of Half Moon Cay makes it the 9th Carnival ship to set sail with guests onboard.

The vessel plans to call Baltimore home until November before moving to Tampa. The Carnival Legend will then take The Pride’s place, operating Bahamian cruises from Port of Baltimore.

Carnival offers the widest array of cruise options from Baltimore, including six- and seven-day sailings to Bermuda and The Bahamas, eight-day voyages to Canada/New England and the Caribbean, and 14-day Carnival Journeys sailings to the Panama Canal and exotic southern Caribbean locations like Aruba and curacao.

Carnival Cruise Line’s 50th Birthday festivities which kick off next year will bring a Carnival Sailabration voyage aboard Carnival Legend, leaving from Baltimore and offering special onboard activities and entertainment.

Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas was scheduled to be cruising from Baltimore in September as well but will now join The Legend in Maryland in December. American Cruise Lines will start operations from Port of Baltimore in November.
