Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary has officially kicked off, much to Disney goer’s delight. Now the resort is offering a new 50th Anniversary VIP Tour to add to the celebrations.
The private tour can accommodate up to 6 people (at least 12 years of age or older) in one party and comes with a knowledgeable and passionate Disney VIP tour guide to ferry the group via land, sky, and water through the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and the original Disney World accommodations- Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground which opened the same year as the Magic Kingdom park- yup, 50 years ago in 1971.
Unlike a normal VIP Tour which costs $315 per hour- with a minimum of six hours booked- the 50th Anniversary tour takes guests on a predetermined route, rather than giving the party access to ride almost anything that strikes their fancy.
The day of “unparalleled magical experiences” begins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground where VIP guests will be transported back in time and learn about the park and its accommodation’s humble beginnings before discovering and exploring the all-new Tri-Circle D Ranch.
Then, taking to the waterways, guests will be able to take in the views of the Disney Resorts Collection on their private charter boat to the ‘newly spruced for the anniversary’, Magic Kingdom park.
Becoming privy to behind-the-scenes secrets along with learning about Walt’s very own passion and inspirations, guests will experience select attractions like never before. They will continue to feel like time travelers as 50 years of magic is revealed, exploring how we got to the parks and resort offerings we experience today.
Included at the exploration of the Magic Kingdom park, (including some always hotly anticipated back-stage areas) guests will be able to pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents their lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant!
Next, guests take to the sky heading towards EPCOT by monorail, getting an exclusive insight into the stunning transformation of the park and into the minds of Imagineers. Perhaps a hint of the future will also be revealed with a sneak peek of some exciting things to come before the party will “squeak” on over to EPCOT’s brand new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
At the end of the trip, the Disney VIP Tour Guide is promised to provide “a finale moment befitting a magical day!”
So, what will this epic day set a VIP guest part back? The 50th anniversary VIP tour starts at $6500! No, the decimal is not missing.
This is on top of the valid theme park admission that is required for each guest in the VIP tour party but not included in the cost. Park pass reservations will be secured at the time of booking.

Disney Private VIP Tours at Walt Disney World Resort are very popular and may be limited in availability. Advance reservations are required and cannot be done online. Guests (over 18) must call (407) 560-4033 to book. Bookings are currently available and tours will run from late October (26th) with the block out dates of November 25 through November 27, 2021, and December 25, 2021, through January 1, 2022.
Cancellations are free up until 72 hours before the scheduled tour. After that, a 20% fee will be incurred.
Full security screenings (including bag checks) should be expected during the Disney VIP Tour and guests should be prepared with their appropriate government-issued identification.
The 50th Anniversary Tour can span up to 8 hours and includes an active agenda spanning many terrains around Walt Disney World Resort, including watercraft and active working areas of the property. Due to capacity or other constraints, the itinerary, content, duration, and availability could be subject to change without notice.
The taking of photographs is encouraged in non-backstage areas however no cameras, video equipment, or cellphones may be used while backstage and during other, certain portions of the special experience tour.
Most dietary restrictions can be easily accommodated but should be discussed at the time of booking. Guests will also be required to inform the server, chef, or manager of their special dietary requests upon arriving at the restaurant.
Teens are fully able to participate in ten tours but must be accompanied by at least one paying and participating parent or guardian.
The tours are provided in English, any other language requests should be made at the time of booking.
All VIP Tours, including the 50th Anniversary Tour, require valid theme park admission—with Park Hopper option—which is not included in the price of the tour. Disney Signature Services will book the required Disney Park Pass reservations when the guest registers for the experience.
For those of us who can’t quite pay the hefty price tag of a VIP tour, there’s still plenty to discover now the “World’s Most Magical Celebration” has kicked off (as of October 1). Celebrations will continue across all four Disney World theme parks for 18 months with new entertainment offerings and “EARidescent” decorations. Cinderella Castle’s, Mickey Mouse, and even the cast members throughout the Disney resort have received an EARidescent makeover.
Of course, no one celebrates the big 5-0 without a party that lasts into the night, and what better way to wrap up the festivities each evening with a magnificent firework spectacular?
At Magic Kingdom, Disney Enchantment lights up the night sky with fireworks as well as incredible, illuminating projections all the way down Main Street.
