CRUISE NEWS: Ships will Sail This Summer, But You May Have to Fly to the Caribbean to Board

Several Cruise Ships will sail from Caribbean home ports this summer as the future of US sailing remains uncertain.

Large cruise lines like Norwegian, Princess, Carnival and Royal Caribbean have all threatened to pull their ships from U.S. waters if the Center for Disease Control and Prevention continues to push their unrealistic guidelines as part of their proposed conditional sailing order.

Ships are still waiting to sail

While the companies haven’t gone as far as relocating their entire fleets yet, each of these, and a handful of other cruise lines will have ships cruising with guests this summer as they call ports in the Bahamas and the Caribbean home.

Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas will be sailing from Nassau, Bahamas. Sister-ship Vision of the Seas will embark on cruises from Bermuda, both starting in June. Come September, the Vision OTS will move and adopt San Juan as its home port.

Crystal Cruises will also begin sailing out of Nassau in July with the uber luxurious Crystal Serenity. Guests can elect to embark and debark the Serenity in Bimini (also in the Bahamas) a day later.

Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Millennium will be calling St. Maarten home throughout June, July and August, The Millennium will offer two different Caribbean itineraries.

Norwegian Cruise Line will offer up a first for its guests when it begins cruises from Montego Bay, Jamaica this Summer.  The Norwegian Joy will begin cruises from Jamaica in August while the Norwegian Gem also begins sailing in August from Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Will Princess head back to Bermuda is the CDC continues to keep ship anchored?

Carnival, Princess and Disney Cruise Lines are yet to relocate any of their fleets to Caribbean or Bahamian home ports but as the CDC continues to block cruising from US ports, this could change at any moment.
