It may only be October, and the Disney Parks are all about the boos, but the festive season is right around the corner…and we are getting all the details.
Firstly, Disney Very Merriest After Hours will be a favorite for the holiday season at Disney World, with ticket holders admitted into the Magic Kingdom as early as 7:00 PM on 24 select nights between November 8 and December 21.
The ticketed event allows attendees more time to enjoy favorite park attractions with much shorter lines and some with a new holiday twist. Seasonal hilarity ensues at Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor exclusively during the event, while the popular Jingle Cruise will also sails throughout the holiday season.
The entertainment throughout The World’s Most Magical Celebration version of Disney Very Merriest After Hours, however, is sure to inject the Christmas spirit into everyone’s hearts.
Musical group, the Reindeer Wranglers, will perform seasonal songs, providing “street-mosphere” in Frontierland or guests can head to Tomorrowland for a Club Tinsel Dance Party, the coolest place to get down this side of the North Pole.
Meanwhile, Disney characters will be spreading holiday cheer all around Magic Kingdom during Disney Very Merriest After Hours. Guests will want to keep an eye out for the Country Bears, Jiminy Cricket, and favorites from the Hundred Acre Wood.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade promises to be brimming with joy and magic, the holly jolly procession beginning with the big man on campus, Mickey, and ending with an appearance by THE big man himself, Santa Claus!
No after-hours would be complete with a fireworks show and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime fireworks will light up the sky to the tune of your favorite Christmas Carols.
If this wasn’t enough, it has now formally been announced that a brilliant holiday performance—Mickey & Minnie’s Very Merry Memories— inspired by beloved Magic Kingdom holiday shows of the past—including Mickey’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Celebrate the Season and Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration will happen at the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage.
Mickey & Minnie’s Very Merry Memories is exclusively presented on Disney Very Merriest After Hours nights and will be chock full of fan faves like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale!
Guests who visit Magic Kingdom Park during regular operating hours are not going to miss out on all the holiday fun! On the evenings when the After Hours is not being held, Cinderella Castle will get a festive makeover with special holiday effects projected on the walls and turrets, providing guests with the best Instagram backdrop they could ask for before the iconic Magic Kingdom landmark becomes a Beacon of Magic, illuminating the night and creating a connection with her sister parks.
The characters, of course, will be around all the Parks, and first look photos coming out of Disneyland on the west coast are showing a glimpse of just how spiffy they will look throughout the holiday season.
Photos show Mickey and Minnie Mouse bundled up in puffer jackets and matching scarves with too cute Santa hats. Minnie Mouse’s snowflake tights are truly adorable.
The holiday season officially begins on November 12, so be sure to keep an eye out for Mickey and Minnie in their cozy holiday looks around Town Square in Disneyland,
Some Magic Key holders may even be lucky enough to spot Mickey and Minnie in these new outfits before the holiday festivities begin! From time to time, this festive duo will be popping in to say hello inside the limited-time Starcade experience in Tomorrowland.
Another early Christmas gift, this time for everyone, is a first look at some of the upcoming holiday merchandise that will become available at the Disneyland Resort as of November.
The cute outfits on the plush Mickey and Minnie dolls just may remind you of something!
As usual, there will be different collections available, with some inspired by the character’s Christmas style, others by the decorations within the parks and all sure to please even the most discerning shopper.
The “Walt’s Holiday Lodge” collection is the first to be revealed, with everything from clothes to housewares to headwear, including, of course…
Holiday Mickey and Minnie ears
This cute backpack, showing Mickey and Minnie getting romantic on the ski-lift pairs wonderfully with the Walt’s Holiday Lode super soft and cozy sweater.
Or, if that’s a little too much for a California Christmas, this chambray button down with Mickey and Minnie skating is a perfect choice
Entertainment throughout the Disneyland Resort season, which goes from November 12 through January 9 will include beloved staples like A Christmas Fantasy Parade, Believe…In Holiday Magic fireworks spectacular, and “it’s a small world” Holiday at Disneyland Park.
Not to be out done, Disney California Adventure park will host the Disney Festival of Holidays, celebrating multicultural traditions.
Crowds are expected be extremely high throughout the entirety of November and December at both Disneyland and Disney World resorts.
Accommodations for October through December are booking up fast in Florida, with some hotels already sold out and little to no Disney Vacation Club availability remaining.
Not only is the U.S finally opening up to international visitors in the coming months (one reason for the rush), but Disney World is, in essence, hosting two celebrations with the 50th Anniversary World’s Most Magical Celebration and Christmas coming together.
